The Melaten campus lies in the north-west of Aachen, right next to the university hospital. Accommodation in Laurensberg, Hörn or the Vaalserquartier is closest. If you arrive by van, the Laurensberg and Aachen-Zentrum exits on the A4 give you quick access to the construction sites on the campus.
Is Aachen suitable as an accommodation base for assembly assignments in the Netherlands or Belgium?
Yes — Aachen lies right in the tri-border area. Heerlen and Vaals are about 15 minutes away, and Maastricht and Liège around 30 to 45 minutes via the A4 and A44. Many crews therefore stay in Aachen and commute to sites across the border — often cheaper than staying locally.
