For assignments at the Mercedes plant in Untertürkheim, Bad Cannstatt and Fellbach are best placed — both reach the plant in a few minutes via the B14 and the Neckar valley. Accommodation there is usually cheaper than in the city centre and offers parking for vans.
Is a worker apartment worthwhile for a longer assignment on the Stuttgart 21 site?
Yes. Since the new main station will not go into operation until December 2031, construction and fit-out work will run for years. For assignments over several weeks or months, a worker apartment with a kitchen is usually far more economical than a hotel, especially with several colleagues.
